Toptastic is Green

You don't need to be a tree hugging hippie to realize it makes a great deal of sense to conduct business using sound green principles.

Not only are we able to make our business more environmentally friendly, but we also save on energy costs and other operating expenses to improve our bottom line.

Some of Our Current Green Programs Include:

Green purchasing policy

  • All our new workstations, monitors, and notebooks and printers are Energy Star compliant.
  • Paper consumables with high recycled content.

Reduce travel to a minimum

  • Use video and tele conferencing for company and client meetings wherever possible.
  • No commuting to air conditioned offices. All staff and associates now telecommute.

Paperless office

  • OK that's maybe not realistic yet, but it is possible to reduce paper consumption.
  • Always print double sided.
  • View PDF files onscreen rather than print them.

Recycling

  • Recycling containers for all paper waste.
  • Recycling of print cartridges and consumables.
  • Purchase of high recycled content media.

Electric power consumption

  • All computer equipment is configured to use energy efficient power management settings.
  • All lights and lamps use non incandescent bulbs where there is an alternative.
  • Power consumption in our lab is continually monitored.

Green web hosting

  • Using virtualization techniques we have been able to reduce our hosting server footprint from eight to two physical machines whilst increasing our hosting performance and availability.

Education

  • Providing employees, associates and clients with information on sound green business principles and encourage active participation in our green programs.

Don't ship it if you don't need to

  • All deliverables of artwork, code, documentation, education materials etc are ONLY dispatched electronically. We no longer ship disks or paper.

Avoid complacency

  • There is always more that can be done, and we welcome suggestions from employees, partners and anyone reading this on ways we can do a better job of being green.
